Beautiful Gate Child Care Centre, Lesotho (Le-soo-too) typically serves 50-60 children from zero to five years of age, e.g. orphaned, abandoned, neglected, destitute, abused, HIV/AIDS affected and other vulnerable children. $2,000 per month will provide for the care needs of ten children, including a house-mother and caregivers from within the local community, a nurse, daily supplies (diapers, food, clothing), medical supplies, day care programs and pre-school programs, as well as regular maintenance and administrative salaries. With the help of the Lesotho Department of Social Welfare many children have been adopted internationally and locally into forever families desiring to shower them with love and assistance. Beautiful Gate has room to expand and serve more children but they need more help. They need YOUR help.

Lesotho (le-soo-too) is a landlocked country and enclave, completely surrounded by its only neighboring country, the Republic of South Africa. It is just over 30,000 km2(11,583 sq mi) in size with a population of approximately 2,067,000 - including 360,000 orphans. Its capital and largest city is Maseru. Lesotho is a member of the Commonwealth of Nations. The name Lesotho translates roughly into the land of the people who speak Sesotho. About 40% of the population live below the international poverty line of US $1.25 a day.
